President and CEO, Investor Protection Institute (IPI)
Don Blandin, president and CEO of the Investor Protection Institute (IPI), has worked in and with a wide variety of sectors, including business and industry; nonprofit; academia and philanthropic foundations; and federal, state and local government, both in the U.S. and globally. Don has been building educational coalitions and partnerships for more than four decades.
Don Blandin was appointed president and CEO of the Investor Protection Institute, a nonprofit organization devoted to investor protection through research and education, in 2009.
As president of IPI, Don works frequently with partners in state government, academia, and the private sector on research and programs to help Americans of all ages become wise and safe investors. Don’s achievements at IPI over the past five years include: the national Investor Education in Your WorkPlace® program; the DASH for the STASH program, The 2015 Millennials: Debt and Retirement Saving/Investing Survey, and the 2015 When I’m 65 public television documentary and national engagement program.
Recent awards bestowed on Don include the BBB International Torch Award for Consumer Leadership from the Council of Better Business Bureaus and the Heart of Financial Planning Award from the Financial Planning Association.
Don Blandin holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from California State University, East Bay, and a Master of Public Administration degree from The American University in Washington, DC. Don and his wife, Nanette, reside in Washington, DC. They have a son, Devon, and a daughter, Sara.
