The Investor Protection Institute undertakes research on consumers’ behavior, attitudes, and confidence levels on investor education and protection issues. This research allows us and others to target investor education and protection initiatives where and to whom they are needed. In addition, dissemination of IPI research increases awareness of the need for investor education and protection. IPI research is undertaken by IPI in collaboration with academic and research institutions as well as other strategic partners.
IPI Research on Investing Knowledge & Behavior
IPI research on Investing Knowledge and Behavior is designed to increase awareness about how Americans invest (or don’t invest) at all stages of life. We look at who is investing, investment goals, risk aversion, protecting against investment fraud, and where investors go for help.
IPI Research on Elder Investment Fraud
Older Americans have long been the target of unscrupulous investment scam artists. More than seven million older Americans–one out of every five citizens over the age of 65–already have been victimized by a financial swindle. IPI’s research on elder investment fraud helps us develop programs and materials to help you protect yourself and your family from elder investment fraud and financial exploitation.
